Frequently Asked Questions

I specialize in work with children ages 3–10 (and their families) and adult women.
With young children I use Child-centered play therapy, sandtray, and the Safe and Sound Protocol to help them heal in ways that feel natural and fun.
With adult women who are seeking deeper healing and renewed hope, I offer a blend of talk therapy, sandtray therapy, Safe and Sound Protocol, EMDR, and Christian counseling when requested by the client.

Play therapy is a research-supported approach that encourages children to express big feelings using toys, art, and games when words just don’t cut it. Because play is their natural language, they are better able to process anxiety, trauma, grief, anger, and family changes safely and at their own pace. As a Registered Play Therapist, my goal is to create a warm, accepting space where your child can heal while simply “playing.”
-
Sandtray therapy is a hands-on, trauma-informed, expressive therapy method where children (and adults) use miniature figures in sand to create scenes that represent their inner world.
It allows people to communicate thoughts and feelings that may be hard to put into words. The sand provides a safe, contained space to process emotions, experiences, and relationships in a gentle but powerful way. -
The Safe and Sound Protocol is a five-hour, music-based listening program designed by Dr. Stephen Porges.
It uses specially filtered music to calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety and sensory sensitivities, and improve social engagement and emotional regulation.
Many of my young clients and adult women notice they feel safer in their bodies and more connected to others after completing SSP.

As a Christian and a counselor, I gladly integrate Scripture, prayer, and a biblical worldview whenever it feels helpful to the client.
You are always in the driver’s seat—some clients want faith woven into every session, while others prefer a more general approach. My goal is to honor both your emotional healing and your spiritual growth.
-
Nope. I work with families who have different belief systems and family values.
If you have concerns about what therapy would look like when you don’t share faith with your counselor, give me a call and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I support children who struggle with anxiety, big emotions, trauma, grief, behavioral challenges, social difficulties, family changes (divorce, adoption, moves), and nightmares or sleep issues.
Play therapy, sandtray, and SSP give children tools to feel calmer, braver, and more connected.
-
I provide therapy support for women struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, low self-worth, relationship struggles, life transitions (empty nest, career changes, postpartum), spiritual doubt, and the desire for deeper faith integration. Many women tell me they finally feel truly seen—emotionally and spiritually.

I am an "out-of-network provider" for all insurance companies. I accept all major forms of payment, including HSA cards, at the time of service. My session rate is $150.
Many insurance companies offer out-of-network benefits and I encourage you to call your insurance company to ask about what benefits are available to you. In many cases, I offer clients a “superbill” to submit to their insurance for reimbursement of fees.
Please note that I am unable to accept out-of-pocket payment from families covered by Medicaid.
